Why does my Audi 80 keep stalling at low RPMs?

I've been experiencing an issue where my Audi 80 will stall when I let off the gas and the RPMs drop below 1000. It's only happening at low speeds and has never happened while driving on the highway. Any ideas on what could be causing this sudden stalling?

Sounds like a common issue with the idle air control valve. It may need to be cleaned or replaced.
